Tuesday, May 6

Devotional: English professor Gregory Clark will speak at the university Devotional at 11:05 a.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center.

Uninsured Health Fair: Multiple community partners are coming together to offer the Uninsured Health Fair, 4:30-7 p.m. at the Utah county Health and Justice Building, 151 S. University Ave., Suite 1600, Provo. Events include free physical exams, various health screenings, fluoride varnishing and prescriptions, and childhood immunizations for $5 per shot. Wednesday, May 7

Service: BYUSA weekly service activities are scheduled around campus 7-8 p.m. in 2300 WSC.

Lecture: Marc Olivier, associate professor of French studies at BYU, will present a lecture on "Border Horror: Identity Anxiety in Recent French Cinema," noon, in 238 HRCB. Admission is free.

Substance abuse program: Utah County Division of Substance Abuse Prevention will host "Addicted to Health" at 6:30 p.m. at the Utah County Health and Justice Building, 151 S. University Ave., Suite 1600, Provo. The free program focuses on substance abuse in Utah County and will discuss community issues and education. Info: 851-7127.

Thursday, May 8

Women in Leadership: Valerie M. Hudson will be speaking about the implications of gender imbalances in Asia during a luncheon of Women in Leadership, at the Provo Library, Room 309, 550 N. University Ave. Networking at 11:30 a.m., lunch at noon. Cost: $7.

Arts conference: The Mountain West Conference on the Arts is scheduled Thursday and Friday at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center, 1355 W. 3100 South, West Valley City. David Whyte, a poet, author and lecturer, will be the keynote speaker at 1:45 p.m. Friday. Friday, May 9

Evening with Friends: Stephen R. Covey, known for his book on leadership principles will speak at the BYU Emeriti Alumni Association's Evening with Friends at the BYU Salt Lake Center 7 p.m.

Temple Square Performances: The Intermountain Children Strings perform classical and folk tunes at 7:30 p.m. in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square in Salt Lake City. Free, open to all ages.

"The Foreigner": The Empress Theatre's production "The Foreigner" opens Friday and runs every Friday, Saturday and Monday through June 9 at 7 p.m. at the theater located at 9104 W. 2700 South Magna. Tickets: $9-$11. Info: 801-347-7373 or visit www.empresstheatre.com.

Amp Sho': From noon until midnight, Booth Bros. Theatre at 165 N. Main, Spanish Fork is sponsoring the Third Annual Amp Sho'. Listen to many of the areas best guitarists demo and record samples of guitars, amplifiers, speakers and tubes.

Temple Square Performances: The 50-female voice Schubert Singers perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square in Salt Lake City. Free, open to ages 8 and older.

Concert: The Encore Chamber Concert is scheduled at 2 p.m. at the Springville Museum of Art, 126 E. 400 South, Springville. Info: 489-2727.

Family Search Indexing: The Family History Library in Salt Lake City is offering a series of classes on how to do Family Search Indexing project. Block Party: The annual Museum of Peoples and Culture Block Party is scheduled 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday at the museum, 700 North 100 East, Provo.
