President Gordon B. Hinckley talked about the importance of staying true to the faith as we go through the perilous times of the last dispensation.

President Hinckley said this dispensation is not the only one that has experienced trials and tribulation. Since the Great War in Heaven, saints have lived in peril. We have to continue to make the initial decision to follow Christ that we made in heaven.

"Perilous times? Yes. These are perilous times," he said. "But the human race has lived in peril from a time before the earth was created."

He counseled listeners to continue to seek to do Heavenly Father's will. He has never left his children, President Hinckley said. Saints need to come unto Christ and take a hold of every good gift.

"Somehow, through all the darkness, there has been a faint and beautiful light," President Hinckley said. "Now, with added luster, it shines upon the world. It carries with it God's plan of happiness for His children. It carries with it the great and unfathomable wonders of the atonement of the redeemer."

President Hinckley also encouraged church members to have charity and love for their neighbor and to continue to respect other's beliefs.
