Square Dancers to Biggest Year Activity
Brigham Young’s Y Squares will be Attending one of the biggest events of the year Saturday in the Union Ballroom of the University of Utah.
Saturday evening’s square dance will feature the nation’s number one caller Frank Lone.
Sponsored by the Salt Lake Rhythum Rounders and the University of Utah’s Ribbons and Spurs, the dance will be attended by square dancers from Utah, Wyoming, Idaho and Colorado.

Sweatshirts Get Axe at Stag Dance
Surfers will have to leave their boards at the door along with the ballet slippers Saturday night at the Y Center Ballroom.
A renewed battle to up-grade dress standards at school dances is causing enforcement of the "shirt and tie" commandment for men attending dances.
Beginning Saturday evening is the first of the stag dances which will be held each Saturday night with live music for varied interests.
The Vectors, California recording stars with the surf rage, will be co-featured with the Maddens Men. The Vectors will begin the evening from 8 to 8:30 and alternativng with Maddens Men each 15 minutes until 11 when the more staid of the two will conduct until 11:30.
Men will not be admitted without a dress shirt and tie, and women are encouraged to dress beyond the classroom costume.
Admission will be 25 cents with free refreshmaents.

Plans are Underway to Build New Sports-Culture Center
An oft-speculated new basketbtall arena on the BYU campus became reality today when President Ernest L. Wilkinson announced construction of a new multi-purpose auditorium.
The new building, designated the Activities Center, should be ready to open its doors to the publci in the fall of 1971 and will sit on a site drectly north of the Smoot Administration building between Phillips lane and Wyview Village. Though the building is primarily a basketball arena, it is being designated to hold devotionals, assemblies, forums, lyceums, convocations, religous assemblies and public assemblies. Appoxamatily $1.5 millon of the total cost will be raised from contributions by alumni and friends.
