Job seekers are going to great lengths to distinguish themselves from their competitors.

The world of business can be a cutthroat competition for advancement, and in today's slumping job market, the competition is tougher than ever.

Recruiters and employers alike say that for applicants to make an impression, everything from interviewing well, to writing a good résumé, to having proper etiquette counts.

But who really knows what is acceptable and what is not when it comes to getting a job?

Here are a few tips to calm those job-finding butterflies.
